MTVlive was one of my FAVOURITE half hour time fillers, EVER. Seeing it live countless times, fueled my desire to start a career in media. I 100% confess to have hopelessly drooled over Paul “The intern” Lemieux, and may of even asked him to marry me a couple times. My best friend loves the show just as much as I do, so making trips to the city a couple times a month to see the show being taped has always been a hobby of ours and I am so sad to see it go.

Today, CBC and Daryn Jones announced that Jones himself will be moving to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (way to pull a Strombo, right?) and host the new reality show  “Over the Rainbow”, a Canadian search for the next Dorothy in the production of Andrew Llyod Webber’s ‘Wizard of Oz’ when it comes to Canada. They are also auditioning for the role of Toto! (contemplating entering my yorkies :P ) More details on the fall premier on CBC can be found here http://www.cbc.ca/overtherainbow/

So what do you think? Career wise, is this an upgrade or downgrade for Jones? Despite the fact that he is nearly 35 (which maybe some would say is too old to be hosting an MTV show?) MTV live has serious guaranteed air time, its been on for 6 years and until yesterday I don’t think they had intentions to end it… what will Jones do when Dorothy is found?
